OUR PRAYER:

Almighty God, in this time of sickness and uncertainty, be our refuge and our strength. Remind us that you are our ever-present help in trouble. Do not let us lose courage in the face of these events. Uphold us with your love, and give us the strength we need. Help us in our confusion. Grant us patience. Guide our actions. Heal the sick. Console the bereaved and afflicted. Protect doctors, nurses, caregivers, and staff. And continue to provide us with our daily bread. We ask this confidently and boldly in the name of him who conquered death, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Founded in 1971, Gloria Dei Evangelical Lutheran Church has changed lives for time and for eternity by the grace of God.

GLORIA DEI = Latin for “ Glory to God. ” It reminds us that all that we do is to give God glory.

EVANGELICAL = “ Gospel Centered. ” It keeps before our eyes the reason we exist and the message we are to proclaim.

LUTHERAN = Confessing the Christian teachings of Martin Luther and the Lutheran Confessions. We stand on “ Grace alone, through Faith alone, revealed in Scripture alone. ”

CHURCH = We are a gathering of living, spiritual stones, built on the foundation of the prophets and apostles with Jesus Christ as the chief cornerstone. We assemble around God’s Word and Sacraments for spiritual growth.

Pastor Dennis Himm has been serving the congregaton of Gloria Dei since October, 1988. He and his wife, Kay, have 5 daughters and 13 grandchildren. Kay serves both as the organist and choir director.
